Terms of Service

Agreement

By using BodyFatAPI (the "Service"), operated by Float Tech LLC ("we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service or create an account.

The service

BodyFatAPI provides AI-powered body fat estimation via a REST API. You submit photos and biometric data, and receive an estimated body fat percentage in response.

Not medical advice

The Service is not a medical device, medical tool, or healthcare product. Estimates are generated by AI for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for professional medical evaluation. You should not make any health, fitness, dietary, or medical decisions based on estimates from this Service. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns. We are not a healthcare provider and make no medical claims whatsoever.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

Payments and refunds

The Service is billed at $0.10 per successful estimate. Prepaid balances do not expire. Payments are processed by Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit photos of anyone under the age of 18
• Submit nude or unclothed photos — all photos must depict clothed individuals
• Submit photos without the subject's knowledge and consent
• Use the Service for any medical, diagnostic, or clinical purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the Service
• Resell access to the Service without our written permission

Photo handling

Photos submitted to the Service are processed solely to generate estimates and are automatically deleted immediately after processing. Photos are never stored permanently by us or viewed by humans as part of normal operations.

API usage

The Service includes rate limits and abuse-prevention measures. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend access to accounts that violate these terms or exhibit abusive usage patterns.

Accuracy disclaimer

Body fat estimates are approximations generated by AI and may not be accurate. We make no guarantees about the precision or reliability of any estimate. Results may vary based on photo quality, lighting, and other factors.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Float Tech LLC shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of the Service, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice or liability. This includes but is not limited to violations of these terms, suspected abuse, or any conduct we deem harmful to the Service or other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
