BodyFatAPI is operated by Float Tech LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and API service.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic account information needed to provide the service. When you use the API or homepage demo, you submit photos and biometric data (weight, age) for estimation.

How we handle your photos

Photos submitted to the API or homepage demo are used solely to generate your body fat estimate. To generate that estimate, photos are processed by hosted AI model providers through OpenRouter. Photos are automatically deleted immediately after estimation is complete, are not stored permanently by us, and are not viewed by humans as part of normal operations.

How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the body fat estimation service
• To process payments and manage your account
• To send transactional emails (billing receipts, account notifications)
• To detect and prevent abuse of the service

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone
• We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
• We do not retain your photos after estimation
• We do not use your submitted photos for our own AI model training

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.

Data security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. API requests are authenticated and rate-limited.

Data retention

Account information is retained while your account is active. Photos are deleted immediately after estimation. API request metadata (timestamps, request IDs) may be retained for billing and abuse-prevention purposes.

Your rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
